Looking for something easy, but full of that southern taste? Look no further than this delicious recipe for Cornbread Chicken Casserole! Casseroles are my jam, I just love the simplicity of them. With only three layers to create, you’ll be out of the kitchen and hanging out with family in no time!
First gather up your ingredients for this yummy Cornbread Chicken Casserole.
Now, cut the chicken into 1 inch cubes. Combine the chicken, Mrs. Dash and garlic powder in a skillet and cook until the chicken is no longer pink in the center.
Then mix together the cooked chicken, sour cream and milk in a large bowl. Pour the mixture into a greased 9″ x 13″ casserole dish.
Spread the cheddar cheese evenly over top of the chicken mixture.
In a separate bowl combine the cornbread mix, cream corn, egg and melted butter.
Pour the cornbread mixture evenly over top of the cheese.
Bake for 30 minutes. Make sure to let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving, this prevents the casserole from falling apart while portioning. Enjoy!
